Monday, October 13, 1941 Mrs. Kate Fox, 79, died Sunday morning at 6:45 at her home, 620 W. Woodard, following an illness of 9 days. She had been a resident of Denison 62 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Rev. B. Deeney officiating. Interment was at Calvary cemetery, Short-Murray directing. Mrs. Fox was the former Miss Kate Sweeney and was born at Castle Mah on, Limerick cou nty, Ireland in 1862, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sweeney. Reared and educated in Ireland, she accompanied her sister and cousin to the United States at the age of 17, coming to Emporia, Kansas, where she resided a year, coming to Denison in 1879. She was married here to Thomas Fox on November 1, 1882. He died here Spril 25, 1902. She was a member of St. Patrick's church and a c harter member of the church's Altar society. Rosary service was held Monday night at 8 o'clock at the home. Surviving are 2 sons, John P. Fox of Weoka, Oklahoma; Terrance E. Fox of Denison; 2 daughters, Miss Margaret Fox of Dallas and Mrs. M.D. Shelton, Denison; a sister, Mrs. James LaVelle of Texarkana, Arkansas and 6 grandchildren.
