Paul Matz died 12 April 1936 Texas Private 5th Engineers 7th Division The Denison Press Sunday, April 12, 1936 pg. 1 PAUL MATZ IS BURIED MONDAY A.M. Paul Matz, 39, ex-serviceman, and who has made his residence in this city since 1914, died at 4:30 Sunday morning at a brother's home, Frank Matz, 721 East Gandy street. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Patrick's church with Rev. B.J. Deeney officiating. Interment was made at Calvary with Short-Murray directing. Mr. Matz was born July 23, 1896, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. Chris Matz. His schooling was received at Henrietta from which point he moved to this city. In February 1918 he enlisted in the service and saw eighteen months action with Company B, Fifth Engineers. Surviving besides his father are three brothers, Frank, Anton and Albert of this city. Two sisters Mrs. Pauline Keeton and Mrs. Annie Hedrick live in this city also.
