Sammon 2 January 1862 - 20 July 1935 James Sammon 15 August 1822 - 27 October 1917 The Denison Press Saturday, July 20, 1935 pg.1 JOSEPH SAMMON, FARMER, DIES HEART ATTACK Joseph Emmet Sammon, 73, farmer living three miles east of the city, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday at his home shortly after an attack of heart trouble. Deceased was born in Toldeo, Ohio, January 2, 1862, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. James Sammon. When 16 years of age he came to Texas with his parents and located on the same farm on which he died. In 1901 he became superintendent of the county farm of this county and served for a period of fifteen years. From 1894 to 1898 he served the county as a road foreman. He was a member of the Catholic church and funeral services will be conducted under auspices of that organization. Rev. B.J. Deeney, pastor of St. Patrick's church will have charge. Interment will be made in Calvary Cemetery with Short-Murray directing. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Kate Sammon; two sons, Dan J. and Mike E., of this city; two daughters, Miss Mary Ann and Miss Katherine Marie Samman of this city. Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Isabel Sammon, Chicago and Mrs. Geo. E. Foster, Chicago.
