The Denison Daily Herald Friday, March 29, 1907 pg. 7 "Bob" Collins Is Dead End Came To One Of Denison's Pioneer Citizens Today Robert C. Collins, one of Denison's oldest residents, died this morning at 11:40 o'clock at his home, No. 704 West Crawford street, after a lingering illness, death resulting from a complication of diseases. The deceased was born in Clay County, Missouri in 1845 and at the time of his death was 61 years, 6 months and 19 days of age. He came to Denison in 1872 and was married in this city 12 years later to Miss Martha A. Kennedy. He was a member of the Choctaw Tribe No. 18, Improved Order of Red Men, Denison Lodge No. 161, I.O.O.F., and Denison Rebekah Lodge No. 126. He recently became a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the funeral was held at that place of worship, corner of Armstrong Ave. and Owings street on Saturday afternoon. Rev. Father Hutcheson officiated. The burial was in Calvary cemetery, and was conducted by the Odd Fellows and Red Men. Besides his wife the following children, all residing in this city, survive him: Mrs. J.B. Stuart, Robert Lee, Bernice, George and Fay Collins.
