Sunday, January 6, 1889 pg. 2 CHRONOLOGICAL RECORD OF LOCAL EVENTS In Denison For The Year 1888 Nov. 2 - Francis, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Murphy, died. The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, November 4, 1888 pg. 8 DIED The Gazetteer records with regret the bereavement of Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Murphy in the death of their infant son, Francis, which occurred at the family residence in this city on Thursday, Nov. 1st, at the hour of 5 a.m. While attending the fair in Dallas last Sunday the child was taken with membraneous croup, compelling the parents to return home, and though upon their arrival everything that medical skill could do was done for the little sufferer, its condition became worse daily until on Thursday morning death came to its relief. The child was of that interesting age in which the dimpled sweetness of babyhood is merging into the intelligent precocity of the child, and its pathetic death is a severe blow to the fond parental hearts. The Gazetteer joins with the many friends in sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Murphy in their sad affliction. The funeral which was an unusually large one took place Friday afternoon from the Catholic church, the interment being in Calvary cemetery.
