Kirtley E. Banzer 21 February 1894 - 2 September 1969 Victor J. Banzer 26 February 1892 - 16 March 1954 The Denison Press Friday, March 19, 1954 pg. 8 Funeral services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Thursday afternoon for Victor J. Banzer, 62, Katy employee who died in the Katy hospital Tuesday morning after a brief illness. Father M. Mulchay of St. Joseph's Catholic church officiated and interment was in Calvary cemetery with Bratcher-Moore Funeral Home in charge. Banzer was employed as accountant for the Katy and had worked for that road 40 years. He was born in Denison February 26, 1892, son of Mr. and Mrs. F.X. Banzer. He received his schooling in Denison and was married here in 1911 to Miss Kirtley Craig, daughter of Boyd Craig, early Grayson County sheriff. He was formerly chief timekeeper in the district superintendent's office early in his railroad career. Later he served as traveling time checker, and became accountant in 1931. He was active in the Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks, having served as president of the local unit, legislative representative, local chairman for stores department of Texas and grand lodge delegate. He was a member of St. Joseph's church, the Woodmen of the World, and the Elks Lodge. Survivors are his widow, 810 W. Main; a son, Craig Banzer, Sherman; one daughter, Mrs. D.S. Simpson, Sherman; a brother, F.A. Banzer, Houston; one sister, Mrs. E.B. Cheatham, Ft. Worth; and 3 grandchildren.
