Sunday, December 27, 1903 pg. 4 Death of James G. McMillin James G. McMillin Died at Terrel, last Saturday afternoon, December 19. His remains were brought here Sunday and interred in Calvary cemetery Monday afternoon. James McMillin was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wood McMillin. He was born in Missouri and was 37 years of age at the time of his death. About 10 years ago he was married to Miss Carrie Fritch and to this union 2 lovely little daughters were born. One, little Myra, died in infancy. He is survived by his wife and little daughter, Pauline, aged 5 years; he also leaves to mourn his loss his father and mother and 5 brothers. Deceased had been a invalid for 4 and a half years; he was at one time a fine business man doing a large grocer and butcher business here, and when he was married had a brilliant future before him. The deceased was bright and energetic, but his strength could not keep pace with his ambition, and a general collapse followed which affected the brain. James McMillin was a devoted husband and father, an affectionate son and brother. His remains were taken to the home of the devoted, faithful wife Sunday night, and buried from St. Patrick's church Monday afternoon. A large concourse of sorrowing friends followed the remains to their last resting place, Calvary Cemetery, beside the little baby gone before, where after life's fitful dream he sweetly sleeps. Myra McMillin 1896 - 1898 The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, June 5, 1898 pg. 4 Myra McMillin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McMillin, died Tuesday morning of cholera-infantum at the family residence No. 811 West Sears street. Myra was aged a little over two years. She was taken sick on Friday the 27th. This is a sad blow to the parents, it being their only child. The funeral took place Thursday afternoon from the Catholic church, and the interment was at the Calvary Cemetery. At the home and at the grave many floral offerings were contributed by sympathizing friends. A very touching feature of the funeral was the four pall bearers, Katie Dorian, Anna Nassoy, Nellie Sweeney, and Mamie Kennedy. Each little lady was dressed in pure white and carried a bouquet of white flowers.
