Mary Bliss Higdon 1859 - 1943 The Denison Press Friday, December 10, 1943 pg. 1 DEATH ROLL Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Bliss Higdon, who died December 5th, were conducted by Rev. Thomas Zachary at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Tuesday, followed by interment in Calvary. She lived at 128 W. Gandy and had been ill for the past three months. Born April 9, 1859 in Wisconsin, her schooling was in the schools of that city. She was married in Denison April 24, 1907, and was a member of the Woodmen Circle and the Order of Ben Hurr. Surviving are two sons, James H. and Jody of Ranger, and three daughters, Mrs. W.A. Middleton and Mrs. E.E. Lucas, both of Denison and Mrs. George Hagans, Pittsburgh, California. Brothers surviving are Robert Carney, Gary, Indiana and J.W. Carney, St. Paul, Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. B.M. Simonton, North Hollywood, California, besides three grandchildren.
