Following
an illness of 4 years, Sebastain Bocklett, 72, died at 4 p.m. Monday at
his home, 423 W. Washington street. He had made that his homr for
the past 66 years. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday
morning from St. Patrick's church with Rev. B.J. Deney officiating.
Interment was at Calvary with Short-Murray directing. The
body lay in state at the family home and a rosary service was conducted
at 8 o'clock. Mr. Bocklett was born in German June 21, 1868, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bocklett. He came with the family to the United States when he was 6 months of age, locating in Cincinnatti, Ohio. They came to Denison when he was 6 years of age and was reared and educated here. He was first employed with the Crystal Ice company. Later he accepted a position with the Katy at 18 years, serving his apprenticeship in the boiler trade. After several years he was promoted to the position of boiler inspector for the Katay and after 8 years retired due to ill health in 1937. He was married in Greenville, September 22, 1897 to Miss Louise Warmack. Surviving are his widow; one son, John, of Parsons, Kansas; and 4 daughters, Mrs. Guy Carter of San Antonio; Sister Mary Ann of Orange, Texas; Mrs. R.W. Sledge of Huston; a;nd Mrs. Jeannette Howell of Denison. Brothers are Tony A. Bocklett of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister, Mrs. Mary Braun, resides in this city.
