George Brunett 28 August 1857 - 13 August 1887 The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, August 14, 1887 pg. 4 Mr. George Brunett died at his residence, east of the railway, this (Saturday) morning after a lingering illness with malarial fever. Mr. Brunett was a young man highly esteemed by his associates and leaves a large circle of friends who regret his untimely taking off. He was married and leaves a wife and two children. The funeral will take place from the Catholic Church at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Interment in the Catholic Cemetery.
Sherman Daily Democrat Saturday, October 30, 1920 pg. 5 WORLD WAR VETERAN DEAD AT DENISON Denison, Texas, October 30 - George S. Brunett, aged 32, died at 1012 West Shepherd street yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Death was caused from heart failure. Mr. Brunett was one of Denison's fine young men and was educated in the Denison High School. He responded to the call of his country and left Denison with the first company of boys and was assigned to Company A, 359th Infantry. He saw service in France for nine months and was returned a casualty, suffering from the trouble which caused his death. His many friends in the city regret to learn of his untimely end. Two brothers survive, Frank Brunett of Waco and Harry Brunett of Norman, Oklahoma. Also one sister, Mrs. Henry Bankston, El Paso, Texas, and two aunts with whom the deceased made his home, Misses Jennie and Josie Brunett. The body was removed to the home of an uncle, Frank Brunett, 900 West Woodard street, where many friends have called today. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary cemetery.
