  Thomas Eccles 11 February 1831 - 5 October 1879 Charity Eccles Griffith 1 December 1843 - 12 January 1916 Sherman Daily Democrat Thursday, Jan. 13, 1916 Mrs. Charity Griffith Dead Passes Away Last Evening at Her Home Southeast of Sherman Mrs. Charity Griffith, 74 years of age, one of the pioneer women of Grayson county, died at her home, six miles southeast of Sherman, last night at 11:30 o'clock from the effect of pneumonia. She is survived by the following children; G. N. Eckles, S. F. Eckles, J. A. Eckles, Mrs. Edith Caruth, Mrs. Ida Dobson, Ed Griffith, Marlon Griffith and Mrs. Victoria Miller. Mrs. Griffith had resided in this county for more than for more than forty years. She had been married twice, but had been a widow for a number of years.
