  Fred LeRoy Wiggins 16 July 1920 - 10 May 2001 Susie Catherine Wiggins 31 May 1921 - 10 August 2004     Linville Earl Wiggins, 67-year-old Sherman resident, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his home. A memorial to celebrate his life is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m. at KOM Ranch. The family invites those who knew and loved Earl to come share their memories and stories of how he touched their lives. Jeremy Moore, Pastor of the Community Bible Fellowship, will lead the celebration. Earl was born on May 12, 1945, the son of Fred LeRoy Wiggins and Susie (Clay) Wiggins. He attended school in Sherman, Texas, where he made life-long friends and graduated as a proud Bearcat. He was a member of the legendary “Skinny 20” football team that led Sherman High School to win a district championship in 1962. After high school, Earl attended the University of North Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government, and several credits in Industrial Management. Upon graduation in 1969, he briefly worked at Texas Instruments where he met his wife, Cassandra, the mother of his three children. Earl served his country during the Vietnam era, from 1969 to 1972, when he was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was a proud veteran. After the Army, he worked the family farm with his parents, and built a career at Oscar Mayer, retiring in 1998. In the following years, he cared for his parents, and is remembered as a caregiver by his friends in their times of need. Earl was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Shannon and husband John Bull and family of Wichita, KS; Amanda and husband Jason Brogdon and family of Tom Bean, TX; and Rebecca and husband Jesse Reinhard of Las Cruces, NM; 9 grandchildren; sister Brenda Ferris of Nacogdoches, TX; nephew Steven Smith of Nacadoches, TX; niece Stefanie Y’Barbo of Bossier City, LA; and many cousins. He enjoyed spicy foods and barbecue, was quick witted, and loved to tell a good joke, often laughing even before he got to the punch line. He followed politics with a passion, loved to read, and was proud to be an American. He enjoyed his grandkids, was an avid fan at ball games, and full of history. He will be sorely missed, and remembered with great love. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amvets Post 47, 4500 Frisco Road in Sherman, the American Diabetes Association, 4425 W Airport Fwy in Irving, or a favorite charity.
