Emma Alexander Smith 15 May 1876 - 18 April 1916 w/o O.A. Smith The Whitewright Sun Thursday, April 28, 1916 pg.1 A VERY SAD DEATH Mrs. Oscar Smith died at her home Tuesday night about 11 o'clock after suffering with cancer of the liver. Her condition was not regarded as serious until about two weeks ago when it was discovered that the deadly disease must soon take her life. She bore her suffering bravely and made a strong fight for life. The remains were laid to rest in the Bethel Cemetery Wednesday afternoon. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.F. Fender of Whitewright. Mrs. Smith's death is one of the saddest that ever occured in our little city. Her husband and three small children survive, the youngest being only five months old. The little motherless children and the bereaved husband have the heartfelt sympathy of all their friends. - - - Trenton Tribune Oscar Herold Smith 24 November 1915 - 29 August 1916 s/o O.A. & Emma Smith Bethel Cemetery Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any of Grayson CountyTXGenWeb links inoperable, please send me a message. |
