Minerva Victoria Jenkins 1805 - 1900
William
M. Jenkins was born December 1829 in Wheatley Co., Tennessee, son of
Joel Jenkins and Minerva Victoria Etichison. He married Sarah
Catherine Mallicaot, presumably in Missouri about 1858. William was a
stock raiser and Confederate veteran. In 1870 he is found in
Grayson County, Texas with a second wife, Nancy Phipps with whom he had
four more children - two sons who died within 2 years after their
fathers death and two daughters, who survived both parents.
William M. Jenkins died on December 11, 1878 and is buried in the
Barron Cemetery, Cooke County, Texas. Childeren Manus Jenkins, b 1858, Missouri Alice Jenkins Helen Jenkins Mary Jenkins John L. "Lee" Jenkins, b 1867; moved to Indian Territory where he married Mary May Hazel in 1889 in a Chickasaw ceremony Later they were also married in a civil ceremony in Gainesville, Cooke Co., Texas. Children John Leonard Jenkins, b 1891; buried in Lindsay, Texas Edward E. Jenkins Seth Thomas Jenkins b 1893; buried in Maud, Oklahoma James Claude Jenkins, b 1895; buried in Lindsay, Texas Anita Jenkins Wiliam Lee Jenkins, 1899 - 1916; buried in Lindsay, Texas Robert Clarence Jenkins, 1901-1970s, buried in Maud, Oklahoma After Sarah's death in 1867, William M. Jenkins married Nancy Phipps on September 15, 1870 in Grayson County, Texas; he was a widower with 5 children.
