Herald Democrat April 27, 2012 SHERMAN - Funeral services for Bobby Don O'Donley, 75, of Sherman were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Sherman. Dr. Mike Lawson and Dr. Russell Duck officiated and burial followed at the Akers Cemetery in Sherman. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Bobby passed away on Friday, April 26, 2012 at his residence in Sherman. He was born on May 24, 1936, son of Harvey and Ruth Troutman O'Donley. He married Kay Lu Hill on November 21, 1957 in Ada, Oklahoma. Bobby graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in engineering and later started working for Texas Instruments in 1960. He retired in 1998. He was known for his master wood working abilities. Bobby was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Sherman. He cooked for the Men's Prayer Breakfast for many years. Bobby is survived by his wife, Kay O'Donley of Sherman; daughter, Gayla Martin and husband Sam of Benbrook; son, Kyle O'Donley and wife Shawna of Sherman; son, Bryan O'Donley and wife Debbie of Flower Mound; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell Martin, Lauren O'Donley, Evan O'Donley, Addison O'Donley and Brady O'Donley. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Butler of Garland, and brother Fred O'Donley and wife Paula of Dallas. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Betty Daniels. Pallbearers were Hubert Martin, Marvin Keller, Jim Thorton, Jack Noble, George Everitt and Harry Gates. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church Music Department or the Ministry of Encouragement at 400 S.
