  J. E. Caughey Ida Caughey   James E. Caughey 1866 - 1954 Mary Ida Caughey 1869 - 1947 Funeral
was held Friday in Barrett Funeral Chapel for James Ellis Caughey, 87,
a retired farmer, who died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Bert Sherron, 800 N. Wood. Rev.
Ed Barcus, pastor of Travis St. Methodist Church, Rev. C.J. Graves,
pastor of Friendship Methodist Church; and Rev. W. Raymond Corrigan,
pastor of Key Memorial Methodist Church, officiated. Pallbearers,
all grandsons, were Maurice Crowder, B.E. Crowder, Harry Caughey,
Charles Caughey, B. Bert Sherron, and Doyle Caughey. Burial was
in Akers Cemetery. Mr. Caughey was a native of Butler County, Kentucky, and a son of J.W.A. and Elizabeth Heney Caughey. His late wife was the former Miss Mary Ida Corder of Galiton, Tennessee. He was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Bert Sherron of Sherman; 2 sons, Barney Caughey and Earl Caughey, of Sherman; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
