Norman, Oklahoma - Amy Ellen Ailshire, 73, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. Graveside services were scheduled for Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014 at Akers Cemetery in Sherman, Texas, with Danny Wiser of Fusion Bible Church, Sherman, officiating.
Mrs. Ailshire was born February 17, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana. She was a graduate of South Bend High School, continuing her education at Indiana University. Her entire career was in the medical profession, including many years as a Unit Clerk at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. She married Gilbert Ailshire on Christmas Eve of 1961. They enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage before his death. As a younger woman, Amy enjoyed knitting. More recently, and in declining health, she was most content spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mrs. Ailshire is survived by her son, Tom of Sherman; 3 daughters: Debbie Ailshire of Norman, Oklahoma; Cathy McCulough of Savoy, Texas; and Beth Ryan of Calipatria, California; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman.
