January 30, 1958 Funeral services were held in the Waldo Chapel at 2:30p.m. Friday for E. A. Ballew, 53, who died Wednesday in a Sherman Hospital after a long illness. Services were conducted by Rev. A.W. Blaine, pastor of the North Park Baptist Church, and Rev. C.J. Graves, Methodist minister of Sherman, with burial at Akers Cemetery under direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mr. Ballew operated the elevator at the M&P Bank building for a number of years, retiring in 1951 because of ill health. He was born August 5, 1904, in Mena, Arkansas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ballew. He was married to Miss Bertie McAfee, April 21, 1923 in Sherman. He was a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. R.A. Engel of Riverside, California; two brothers, O.L. Ballew of Sheridan, and Sadler Ballew of SanBenito; one sister, Mrs. Dan Robertson of Ft Worth; and two grandchildren.  E. A. Ballew 1904 - 1958 Akers Cemetery Copyright © 2024, TXGenWeb.
