Mary Rose Hockridge 24 April 1894 - 14 February 1989 Lola R. Andre Hockridge 8 April 1928 - 30 November 1999 J. Douglas Hockridge 16 July 1956 - 2 October 1983 ; Billy Wayne "B.W." Hockridge, age 88, of Sherman, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at his residence in Sherman. He was born on April 4, 1923 in Bethany, Missouri, son of David Nelson Hockridge and Mary Rose Hall Hockridge. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 and advanced to Sergeant in nine months. His military experience took him many places from the front line to building pontoon bridges. B.W. married Linda Laverne Everett on December 13, 1944. She preceded him in death in 1967. He later married Mary Lou Bultmann on March 16, 1977 in Carrollton, Missouri. After residing in Eldon and Columbia, Missouri, the family moved to Austin, Texas where he worked in the watch repair business. He later began selling Insurance with Prudential and retired after 27 years. During this time he received every sales recognition award the company offered. He was also a training consultant for over two years before moving to Sherman in 1966 and remaining there through his retirement with Prudential in 1981. B.W. then opened his own independent agency for the next 17 years and finally retiring in 1998. During this time being an avid golfer, at the age of 60 established an individual "custom fitting golf club" business. He is survived by wife Mary Lou Hockridge of Sherman; son, Bill E. Hockridge; son, Donald N. Hockridge; daughter, Linda Wayne Hockridge; daughter, Traci Solomon; daughter, Linda Ruvio; daughter, Ginnie Hart; daughter, Judy Williams; son, Curtis Wright; and brother, Lewis Hockridge. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. B. W. was preceded in death by his parents, first wife; son, J. Douglas Hockridge; brother, D.W. Hockridge; and sister, Lola Rea Andre. Funeral services for Billy Wayne "B.W." Hockridge, age 88, of Sherman, Texas was held Saturday afternoon, April 16, 2011 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.
