Funeral Mass for Jesse Gonzales, age 77, of Sherman, TX will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. Burial will follow at Akers Cemetery in Sherman. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
He passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at his residence in Sherman.
He was born on September 2, 1933, in Houston, TX the son of Miguel Angel Gonzales and Mary Helen Santos. Jesse was raised by his mother and step father Ray Santos.
Jesse loved fishing, bingo, Dallas Cowboys, making birdhouses and he loved joking around with family and friends. He loved his dogs, Bo Jack and Peanut who recently passed away.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Ellen Elsie Gonzales of Sherman, TX, son, Jesse Ray Gonzales and wife Joyce of Humble, TX, son, Andre Gonzales of Honolulu, HI, son, Thomas Gonzales of Fort Myers, FL, son, Russell Lee Gonzales of Denver, CO, daughter, Susan Powell of Denison, TX, daughter, Mary Helen Keefe and husband Shawn of Austin, TX, son, Patrick Gonzales of Sherman, TX, daughter, Linda (Gonzales) King of La Porte, TX, son, Garrett Sandlin and wife Kelly of Houston, TX, daughter, Carol Moore and husband Jerry of Savoy, TX, son, David Gonzales of Pasadena, TX and daughter, Kellie Piotrowsk and husband Russell of Austin, TX. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and uncle, Frank Stone of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, brother, Mickey Gonzales and sister, Josephine Sandlin.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 29th at Waldo Funeral Home. Family night will follow from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
