Judith Ann Galyon was born October 24, 1948. She was welcomed into the world by her parents the late Floyd and Mildred Galyon. She joined older brother Bill Galyon of Sherman, and sister Delores Weatherman of Ector.
She quickly became a beloved addition to the entire family. She loved to laugh, sing, create beautiful art, and spend time with the ones she loved. Judith attended school in Sherman, and further continued her education at Grayson County College. Although she moved around throughout life, she ended up settling back in Sherman. She was a member of the Western Heights Church of Christ. She was employed as an office manager and continued to create masterpieces of art out of any blank canvas that she could find. She also enjoyed old western movies, great music, and reading suspenseful books. She loved her Texas sports teams, a love she shared with her brother and niece, Sara Galyon of Sherman. There were many cheers heard in the Galyon home over the years…and many boohs. Her laughter was contagious, and she was the most giving person, sharing freely with her family, friends and strangers alike.
Judith passed away suddenly and quietly on the morning of September 6, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. In her final gift to the world, she saved the lives of others through organ donation.
Services for Judy will be held September 12, 2011 at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas. The viewing will be at Dannel Funeral Home at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Akers Cemetery at 11 a.m.
