Loe’s Highport
Marina on Lake
Texoma
taken in the 1950s owned by Henry
Clountz, who worked for Loe’s for many years as a night watchman on the
gas
dock; it
was a floating dock, so the boats could drive up to it, and the workers
would put gas and oil in the boats, help fix minor
problems, or sell bait. The
gas dock where Henry Clountz and other men worked can be seen in the
photograph above; a ramp can be seen extending out into the water
with a dock on it. A little house was built on it, which was the
gas dock so boats could easily pull up to it for refuleing or repairs..

At night, like the shift Henry
Clountz worked, there were also night watchmen who made sure everything
was okay with the boats and boat houses at the marina, as well
as at the businesses along the marina.
