July 27, 1938 "Today in Denison" We are glad to note that Munson Park is to undergo considerable improvement. The Boosters' Club has been successful in securing an NYA project for this park, making it possible for the NYA, the city and the Boosters' Club to cooperate in the undertaking. The NYA (National Youth Adminstration) will supply the needed labor, the city will provide a superintendent, and the Boosters' Club will furnish the needed materials and supplies. Youths working under the auspices of the NYA will devote several months in improving the park. Picnic stands will be erected and probably other improvements will be made. Munson Park is one of the most attractive recreation grounds in this section and could become one of the most popular. Unfortunately, it has been neglected for the past several years and is being used very little by the public at the present time. After it has been improved and again made accessible to the public, no doubt it will regain its popularity as a recreation center. The Boosters' Club deserves commendation for its effort to secure a NYA project for this park - an effort that has been crowned with success.
