The National Bridge Company has its men at work on the Colbert bridge, across Red River.  If high water does not interfere, they expect to have the bridge completed the first of February (1875).  As soon as the bridge is finished, it is the intention of Mr. Colbert to open a direct road from the bridge to Denison.
We learn from Mr. C. Washington, superintendent of the construction of the Colbert Bridge, across Red River, that they have recently made a most valuable discovery two miles north of the bridge, in the Nation.  The workmen opened an extensive quarry of pure blue limestone.  The rock is capable of taking a high polish, like marble.  It is a most important discovery.

Red River is on a high, the water lacking only a few feet being up to the highest water mark.  It is reported the abutment for the Colbert bridge, on this side, has been washed away.
