The
Katy Cafe as the Ray Yards in Denison, Texas was on a hill that
overlooked the Katy's extensive hump yard that has been completed in
1923. Later in the 1960s, it became the yard office and was
eventually torn down in the 1970s and replaced by the present yard
office.
Editor's Note: Hwy. 82 mentioned in above news clipping is the highway that runs east-west out of Sherman. The highway on which the Katy offices sat was Hwy. 84, which is an east-west road that runs along the north side of Denison and then turns northeasterly up to Rocky Point on the lake. Before it leaves town, Hwy. 84 runs by the railroad yard.
