Denison, Bonham and New Orleans Railroad In
1887, another railroad, financed by subscription, was begun.
Influential men from Denison and Bonham met in January 1887 to
organize the new railroad and elect Directors for the 1887 year.
The Denison, Bonham and New Orleans was built to run between Denison and New Orleans, making stops in the communities of Ravenna, Fannin County and Ambrose, Grayson County; total mileage of the railroad was 26.7 miles of track. This rail line was purchased later by the MK&T, which was discontinued in 1929.
