"Uncle Bill" Reeves will attend the Chattanooga reunion of ex-Confederate soldiers.  Miss Rosa Cook will also go to the reunion and will extend her trip to Kentucky.
Dr. Ross R. May returned from a pleasure trip of several days to Corpus Christi, San Antonio and other south Texas points.
C.B. Bryant has bought the vacant business lot on the north side of the main business thoroughfare from Guy Hamilton.
Prof. George Dugan of Bells came down last Thursday and gave the Whitewright Concert boys their first lesson.  He will be here every Thursday afternoon and night to instruct the band.
Dr. R.L. Sears arrived home last Saturday from Chicago and New York.
The 1904 History, acting as an advisory committee for the chautauque next week, held a meeting Wednesday afternoon and appointed committees.
D.C.H. Bradford has sold his grocery and produce business to W.M. Cox.
The Odd Fellows will install new officers for the term at their regular weekly meeting.
Chief Gattis informs the Sun that the city has purchased a new horse for the fire department to take place of old Frank, who has been superanuated.  The price paid for the new horse was $190 and Mr. Gattis says he is a highly bred animal, having the necessary spirit and horse sense to catch on and execute the work required of him.
J.T. Stillwell of this city has been appointed by the management of the Southern States Cotton Corporation as a cotton classer for Grayson County.
