DOWN MEMORY LANE
40 Years Ago (From The Sun, August 5, 1921)
Three masked men held up and robbed  2 operators at the T&P-M. K. & T. railroad station at Bells at midnight Monday.
Cast of the American Legion play, "Valley Farm," to be presented Friday night includes O.C. Skipper, Jesse Wallace, Will Boone, J.E. Russell, Sam McMillin, John McGaughey, Miss Hazel Ray, Miss Sallie Joe Gowdy, Miss Marian Simmons, Miss Allegra Byers,  Miss Nell Badgett and Miss Ethel Gordon.
Mrs. Bass Lewis left Thursday for Rusk where she will enter business.

35 years ago (From The Sun, August 5 , 1926 )
The Kimbell Milling plant was destroyed by fire Monday morning.
J.H. Blincoe has sold his tailor shop equipment to a Trenton man.
Mrs. Ray Manning entertained with a bridge party Tuesday afternoon.
Martha Sue Lindsey, Alberta Haliburton, Una Mae Mangrum, Dorothy Juan Gillett, Margery Smith, Mozella Looney, Lula Lee Vestal and Oleta Chambers were on the Junior B.Y.P.U. program.

30 Years ago (From The Sun, August 6, 1921)
Mrs. Lee Wilson honored her son Roby Lee with a birthday party Saturday afternoon.   Present were James B. and Billy Phillips, Lewis LaRoe and Joe Vestal, Betty Jean Brice, Betty Joe Hamilton, and Gerald and Peggie Joyce Ooten.
Mrs. Gladys Mager, connected with the telephone exchange for 11 years, has been appointed chief operator at Krum.

20 Years Ago (From The Sun, August 7, 1941)
Mrs. Philip Norris honored her son Robby Richard with a birthday party Saturday afternoon.  Present were Ellen Carol Ryon, Beverly Ann Bassett, Prilla Ann Hinton, James and Jerry Vineyard, Shirley Blanton, Frances and Frank Layman, Rogann Holcomb, Lou Ann May, Buddy Gibson, Jim Spinks, Myrna Nell Scott, Nancy Sue May, Margie Beth Claborn, Joe Morris Wallace, Jerry Lee Norris, Jeanette Jones, Carol Kilgroe and Edward McDowell.
Mr. and Mrs. Leland May have moved to Florence, Arizona.
