Adams, southwest of town, announce the birth of a daughter Sunday. Miss Bertha Cox has accepted employment at Denton. L.V. Smith has gone to El Paso where he has employment. Bryant has returned from a 2-week visit at Marlin. Mrs. V.H. Montgomery of Dallas has concluded a visit with her daughter, Mrs. M.T. Craig. Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Hestand of Slaton are visiting relatives here. Thomas L. Wrenn, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Wrenn, northeast of town, is a member of the Austin College, Sherman, graduating class. 25 Years Ago (From The Sun, June 1, 1933) Heavy rain, accompanied by a spectacular electrical display, visited the Whitewright area Sunday. Two residences at Pilot Grove were struck by lightning and a horse was killed. Mary Jo Sears was valedictorian and Dick Montgomery was salutatorian of the high school graduating class. Members of the Whitewright Golf Association will tee off Sunday in a 36-hole medal-play tournament for the president's cup and to determine the players' handicaps.
