Whitewright is proud of her new postoffice and fixtures in the Holcomb building on Main street.  The move was made Tuesday night.
Thomas GIllett died at his home here early Sunday morning.
Charley Jarvis and Miss Imogene Martin were married last Saturday evening at the home of Rev. J.F. Fender, who officiated.
Mary Lee Andrews, Virginia Smith, Robert Crowell, Edna Bell Roberts, Clara Mae Truett, Emma Lucile Craig, and Frances Delfel were on the first grade honor roll.  Samantha Murphy, Frances Low and Mollie Wright made the 11 grade honor roll.
John L. Legate is a candidate for district clerk.
Mrs. W.L. Newsom entertained Monday evening in honor of Roy Epting, who is moving to Madill, Oklahoma.
Luther Gentry, 40, died at his home north of Nobility Sunday.
Rev. and Mrs. W.J. Epting and son Roy moved to Madill, Oklahoma Tuesday, where he will be pastor of the Baptist Church.

P.J. Pierce died at his home here Monday morning.
Tom King, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. King of Whitewright, has been made manager of the Madill Grain & Elevator Co. at Madill, Oklahoma.
Theives stole Sheriff Floyd Everheart's Ford coupe, which was parked on South Walnut street.  The car was found parked on Main street in Denison.
Mrs. Lucian LaRoe and daughter, Miss Louise, entertained Thursday evening with a 4-course birthday dinner, honoring Miss Lucile LaRoe on her 16th birthday.  The following were present: Misses Maurine May, Verna Mangrum, Sue McConnell, Theresa Everheart, Evelyn Wilson, and J.B. Phillips, Robert Everheart, Lester Short, Tommie Bradley, and Garnet Nichols.
Mrs. Mary Ryon presented her expression pupils in recital Tuesday evening at the grammar school.

The Boy Scouts went on a picnic Wednesday evening with Chesley Rutledge furnishing the eats.  Present were: J.M. McFerrin, Chesley Rutledge, Dick Montgomery, Ernest Pumphrey, Billy Magar, Joe Thomas Meador, T homas Sears, Sonny Gosnell, Guy Hamilton, Jr., J.B. Cates, Vernon Rector, Ross Wilson, Burgher Vestal, Richard Williams, Fitz Bryant, Jr., Cleophus Haliburton, Billy Roberts, and C.W. Phillips.
E.F. Jones of the Bethel community died Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Denton.
F.M. Echols was re-elected mayor of Whitewright Tuesday for the 8th consecutive time.
Dorothy Juan Gillett won second place in declamation at the Interscholastic League meet in Sherman.  Other students from Whitewright taking part in the meet were: Boys' debate, Lester Martin and Printess Compton; Girls' debate, Clyde Johnson and Ouija Craig; Senior Girls' Declamation, Una Mae Mangrum; Junior spelling, Monabelle Biggerstaff and Inez Coffey; sub-junior spelling, Anita Vestal and James Lay; extemporaneous speaking, Jim Grow.

Members of the 7th grade presented a program at Kentuckytown Friday night.  Taking part of the program were Margaret England, Bubbles Ford, Faustine Spangler, Donald Hudgins, Sara Kathryn Arterberry, Robert Lee Bonham, William Janway, Ray Mooneyham, and Mary Phillips. - - - Grammar School notes
Mr. C.B. Marlowe of Canaan and Miss Wilma Janway of Whitewright were married Saturday at Rockwall.
Mr. Herman Bedford of Detroit and Miss Annibel Stephens of Enterprise were married Saturday in Paris.
Prizes in the 1st grade for the best notebook on birds and flowers were awarded as follows:
1st, Janis Horton, Henrietta Jackson, Eugene Reeves, Betty Nell Yeager, Billy Christian, and Don Newman
2nd, Ruth Lightford, Billy Cantrell, Margaret Ann Burnham, Sue Garner, Harry Watson, Nancy Garland, and Katie Kincaid
