F.M. Simmons died at his home here Saturday night.
Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Spindle, a boy, Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charley Truett announce the birth of a son on Tuesday.
Mrs. Fitz Bryant entertained with a tea Thursday afternoon announcing the approaching marriage of her sister, Miss Edith Little and Rev. Grady May.
The weather is warm and windy.  Oats are sown and up.  Corn is being put in the ground by our industrious farmers - Orangeville News
Lee Holcomb has returned from Roswell, New Mexico, where he spent a fortnight with his parents.

The county tax collector's office announced Tuesday morning that there are 19,256 qualified voters in Grayson County.
Mrs. Fannie Rebecca Johnson, wife of R.L. Johnson, died at the family home on South Bond street Wednesday night, March 15.
H.L. Durham's Sunday School Class was organized at the Baptist Church last Sunday morning with the following officers:
Cloy Horton, president
Tom Truett, vice-president
B. Holcomb, secretary
Miss May Badgett, assistant secretary
Austin Stedham, treasurer
Miss Lena Mae Gowdy, reporter
Mr. Walter C. Bailey of Ringling, Oklahoma and Miss Edna Cox of Whitewright were married Thursday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Cox.
The Commercial Club is helping Joe Johnson to promote an up-town radio receiving station.
A Business Men's Bible Class was organized last Sunday at the Baptist Church.  Following are the officers:

J.W. Pender, 3rd vice-president

25 Years Ago
(From The Sun, March 27, 1927)
Clarence, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Blanton, northeast of town, was kicked on the head by a mule Saturday evening and seriously injured.  His skull was fractured.  He was taken to a Sherman hospital and was reported to be resting well Wednesday.
The record of the city's vital statistics registrar shows that there were 125 births in the city and community during the year of 1926.  Of this number 66 were males and 59 females.
Elmer Marlow and Miss Zelma Mae Hopper, both of the Canaan community, were married in Bells on March 5.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ashinhurst of Pilot Grove, a girl, March 4.
Five bales of cotton were ginned here Monday. - Pilot Grove News
J.A. Alexander and P.C. Coldwell Jr. of Garland have purchased the Gordon Clothing Co. store here and opened the business this morning with a big sale.
Rev. J.F. Fender has tendered his resignation as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, after 24 and 1/2 years, to become effective on April 1.  He will continue to reside here.
