A crowd estimated at 4,000 was present Saturday for trades day.
The Commercial Club distributed $250 in gold, the prizes being awarded as follows:

Ben Means, $75
Mrs. R.L. Sears, $40
C.W. Farr, $20
Mrs. J.J. Jenkins, $10
A.K. Haliburton, $5
Miss Maude Biggerstaff is critically ill at her home west of town.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Guy Dillon a girl, Tuesday.
Jess Graves has bought the mule barn formerly owned by Sears & Caston from Ed Buford.
A.J. Dillon and son, Claud, are in Cooke County where they are doing carpenter work for T.H. Sears.
Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Neff of Detroit announce the birth of a boy on October 13.  Mrs. Neff was formerly Miss Bernice Ray.
The fire department was called to the home of J.H. Waggoner Thursday morning to subdue an oil stove fire.
The Sherman Democrat is urging the employment by Grayson County of a farm demonstration agent.

Miss Rachel Montgomery of this city and Mr. Fountain Kimbell of Groesbeck were married Saturday at the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and
Mrs. B.S. Montgomery.
W.T. Noe, pioneer citizen of Whitewright died at his home here Sunday night.
George Nicely died Tuesday morning at Wichita Falls, where he had been making his home since the death of his wife a year ago.
The census bureau announces the population of the United States as 105,700,000.
The city council has sold the Grayson College auditorium chairs for $1,050 and they have been shipped to Cameron.
Mrs. Susan D. Fulton, 80 years old, died at her home 6 miles north of town Sunday night.
Joe Hamilton is preambulating over the diversified landscapes of the Llano Estacado th is week.

Average attendance for the first mont of school was 319.6, according to announcement from the superintendent's office.
Cotton price has advanced from $4.80 to $5.25 since last week, with an increase in the price of seed from $7 to $8.  Ginnings to date
total 4,593 bales.
