Dr.
David M. Ray was reared on a Kentucky farm; he moved to Kentucktown,
Grayson Co., Texas in 1852. While there he was in Kentuckytown,
he read medicine with Dr. William F. Hoard. He opened his office
in Whitewright on September 8, 1878 and was a doctor to many people
until his death nearly 31 years later on May 7, 1907.
Dr.
Reynolds May read medicine with G.W. Anderson at Savoy in 1876.
He graduated from the Medical Departmen at Louisville, Kentucky
in 1878. Dr. May and Miss Henrietta Rathburn of Lincoln, Illinois
were married in 1881. They had one son, Dr. Ross M. May, who
practiced with his father in their office over Kirkpatrick Drug Store.

Johnson came to Whitewright in September 1903. His first office was
over the Gallagher Bros. Drug Store on the south side of Main Street.
He had practiced 53 years in Whitewright at the time he
retired. Dr. E.P. Montgomery R.L. Sears began his practice about 1890. J.L. Bow came to Whiteright from Bells in 1893 Paul E. Gears began his medical practice in Whitewright in 1954.
