Ft. Worth Daily Gazette Wednesday, December 9, 1885 pg. 8 SHERMAN Jesse Jarman, who lives with his father, Joseph Jarman, 4 miles south of Whitesboro, was thrown from his horse near the house of A. Gardner, sexton of the city cemetery, last night and seriously hurt. He had purchased a new plaited-leather bridle from a peddler on the streets during the day, and when moving the animal rapidly the reins pulled out at the bit and the horse started to run rapidly. Jarman attempted to free himself by jumping off, but when he struck the ground the small bone of one leg was broken above the ankle, the ankle joint dislocated, and the bone forced through the flesh and skin. Mr. Gardner carried him into the house and summoned Drs. Stinson and Thompson to dress the wound and set the bones. He was resting comparatively well to-day.
