Ft. Worth Star Telegram November 22, 1918 DERAILMENT LOOSENS LARGE WINE SUPPLY; SNIPE GANG TANKS UP Special to The Star-Telegram Whitesboro, Texas, Nov. 22 - The great prohibition drouth which has prevailed over Grayson County for some time was broken Thursday evening when an M.K. & T. freight train was derailed in the vicinity of Sadler, a small station 5 miles north of Whitesboro. Two cars of California wine en route to New York were in the smash up. The derailment occurred on a 35 ' fill and barrels of wine rolled in all directions, causing a great many of the barrels to spring a leak. About 50 Mexican track men who were ru shed to the scene to assist in repairing the damaged trac, imbibed so freely of the win that they soon became incapacitated for further duty. Farmers for miles around who got new of the great overflow of grape juice talked up from all directions like cougars from the jungles,, each bringing along a container. From all accounts every one who visited the derailment had his thirst thoroughly allayed and went away with his container full up to the brim.
