Thursday, August 5, 1920 pg. 4 WHITE ROCK To the Democrat: White Rock, Tex., August 2 - A good rain fell here Sunday evening though it was not needed on cotton, but will be of some benefit to those who are plowing as the ground was very dry and hard. Mr. T.A. Naylor of Sherman visited Mrs. R. Clark Thursday. Dr. J.A. Norris and wife of Athens, Texas have returned after a few days' visit with his brother, F.G. Norris. J.J. and E.F. Clark went to Ft. Worth Saturday, returning Sunday. S. Pond returned Thursday from a short visit to his brother near St. Jo. H.C. Patterson and family visited W.R. Clark and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Blankenship and daughter, Miss Nellie, visited Mr. and Mrs. Dunning of Cashion Sunday. W.B. Goode and family of Pottsboro visited his mother, Mrs. E.Y. Goode, Sunday. Russell Brown of Rockport visited Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Cordell Sunday. Miss Eda Bruster of Pottsboro was visiting Mrs. E.Y. Goode's Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hestand of Denison visited Mrs. Hestand's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moss Saturday. Mrs. Dunning and children of Pottsboro visited her mother, Mrs. E.Y. Goode Sunday. Miss Velma Myhaney of Durant, Oklahoma has returned home after a few days' visit with W.F. Benedict and family. Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Barrett and children and Mr. and Mrs. S.F. Davidson visited J.R. Rutherford and family Sunday. Mrs. Cary C. Williford and brother, Robert Kemmerley, of Eustace, Texas have returned home after a short visit with relatives here. Relatives have received word Tuesday of the serious illness of Mrs. Jewell Kearsey of Kearsey, Oklahoma. Mrs. Kearsey is in a hospital at Durant where she underwent a serious surgical operation. She will be remembered here as Miss Jewell Goode. Mr. and Mrs. Everett are visiting at Howe this week. Miss Leemay Shultz of Oklahoma is visiting Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Cordell. W.F. Benedict and family visited Bob Turner and family of Sherman Sunday. Miss Ollie Dunning of Pottsboro is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. E.Y. Goode, this week. Mrs. Willie Boatsman of Shawnee, Oklahoma has returned home after a week's visit with her sister, Mrs. W.R. Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Clark and baby visited the former's brother, R. Clark, and family Sunday. M.C. Cordell and son of Oklahoma are visiting his brother, L.C. Cordell.
