Sunday, July 26, 1891 pg. 1 ITEMS FROM VAN ALSTYNE (From The News) A painter from Denison has located in Van Alstyne this week. The Van Alstyne band will play for the picnic at Howe next Saturday. The News supposes with good reasons that the Denison dailies have become weeklies. Dan, the six year old boy of Mr. W.T. McKinney, fell from a small shade tree in the yard Wednesday morning and broke his arm just above the hand. Capt. G.R. Cooper, south of Van Alstyne, says he will probably get 7,000 pounds of strained honey from his bee stands this year. This at 10 cents per pound, will bring the Captain $700. Beats too much farming.
