The Howe Enterprise Thursday, February 10, 1977 pg. 1 The Tom Bean Bank was held up again Monday in an almost wearisome repitition of what has been happening every few months for the past four or five years. The bank probably can claim the distinction of being the most robbed bank in Texas. A policeman in Tom Bean would probably mean an end to all this. Being the bank robbery capital of Texas isn't the best way to have your town's name become a household word. It the town can't afford a cop, maybe they can old Love Field Texas Ranger statue as surplus, dress it in new clothes and place it outside the bank.
