The fact in the case as near they can be obtained at present are as follows: his wife, who is the daughter a daughter of Mr. Shurley, reports that after breakfast Mr. Krop asked her to go to the cotton field with him to pick cotton, and she told him that she could not go, whereupon he picked up his pistol (a 41-Derringer) and she, thinking he would shoot her, grabbed up their baby and and ran out of the room. She did not get far when she heard the report of a pistol, and on returning, she found him lying on the floor of the room dead, with the pistol lying on the floor on the opposite side of the room. The coroner, who lives at Collinsville, was notified by wire, but has not arrived yet.
