Pilot Point, Tex., Oct. 21. – Mr. Alvin Smith met with a painful accident a day or two ago by accidentally thrusting a pitchfork tine entirely through his left arm between the wrist and hand. 
An attempt was made Tuesday night at Tioga by a gang of sneak thieves to get away with a bale of cotton, but Mr. S.H. Bradley was on guard with a double-barreled shotgun and fired into the party and they left on double-quick time. They returned the fire.
