The Daily Favorite (Bonham, Texas) August 27, 1909 pg. 1 She Left Train at Tioga and Did not Get On Again - Left the Baby Sherman, Texas, August 26 - Deputy Sheriff A.H. Leftwich and L.T. Kemp of Tioga came in on the T & P about 12:45 this afternoon. They state that a young woman who got on the train at Ft. Worth with a young baby asked a young man to hold it for her for a moment as she wanted to see a party in Tioga. She got off the train at Tioga and never got back on, leaving the baby with the young man. As the young man was on his way to Collinsville to see his sweetheart, it left him in quite an awkward position. Mr. Leftwich says he took the baby off the train with him. The conductor on the train says when the young woman got off his train at Tioga, she was met by a young man who kissed her and they went off together.
