Friday, April 24, 1908 Southmayd Southmayd, Tex., April 22 - Miss Francis Kendall returned Friday from Fort Worth where she had a very delightful visit with relatives. Sims Braswell transacted business in Sherman Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Horstman visited relatives in Sherman Saturday and Sunday. Paul Shelton returned Sunday from a prolonged visit with friends and relatives in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Ed Cooper and Miss Veneta Atinger of Bonham were united in the bonds of holy wedlock at the parsonage here Sunday. John Hollingsworth of Sherman was here on business Friday. Mrs. R.C. Mitchner is visiting her parents in Sherman this week. The past 4 weeks of wet weather has brought business to a standstill. The farmers are very much delayed and discouraged. On account of the wet weather, there has not been any Sunday School at either church in 4 weeks. In the future, however, the Methodist Church has decided to have Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday regardless of the weather unless it is pouring down rain at the appointed hour. H.E. Caldwell transacted business in Sherman Monday. Charley and John Crow have been reaping a rich harvest fishing during the wet weather. Chester Raggles was in Sherman Tuesday. Levy Boren and family moved to Collin County today. Will Halleman and family moved from Oklahoma into Southmayd today.
