The South Gale Communtity is bounded by Smith Creek on the north, Choctaw Creek on the East, Iron Ore Creek on the South and a line of headwaters of Smith Creek to a point on Iron Ore Creek.

There was a Christian Church next to the school house.  The building was used until 1920 when services were stopped because it was in such a bad condition.

There were two stores. The first one was north of the school house.  In 1924, L. D. Darnell built a store at the intersection of Singletree Road and Ambrose Road.  The store also had a gas station, which closed in 1947.

Some of the families in South Gale Community were: J.E. Ackason, H.L. Anderson, Anderson Coleman, Jack McCoy, Ruben Marlow, Jim Camp, John Camp, John Harris, Dick Woods, F.R. Jennings, J.E. Odom, F.P. Clement, Joe Sammons, T.J. Butcher, Jim Turner, Roy McLaughlin, Joe Kear, Mrs. Kate O'Conner.

The women of South Gale organized a Home Demonstration Club in the 1940s.

South Gale had two railroads - the MKT which came from Denison out to Bona Junction and on to Bells.  Another line ran from Dona Junction to Bonham, Texas.  It was know as Denison, Bonham and New Orleans but was never built farther than Bonham.  It was closed in 1926.
