VIENNA STEAM BAKERY
established 1904
South Travis Street
August Kubala, Proprietor
One
of the absolute essentials to the being and happiness of mankind is
bread - plenty of bread - plenty of good bread, and for fourteen years
the people of Sherman and surrounding country have been supplied with
an abundance of good bread through the Vienna Steam Bakery, located on
South Travis Street, of which August Kubala is proprietor.
Mr.
Kubala is a native Texas, born and raised at La Grange in Fayette
county, and incidentally it might be said he was also raised in a
baker's shop, hence his skills and success as a baker.
Mr. Kubala
came to Sherman in April 1904 and opened the business which he has
since continuously conducted. He started at first in a small way,
but his business has steadily grown, and he now supplies not only a
large part of the people of Sherman with bread, but also daily ships
large quantities to other towns in this section of the country.
The
Vienna Steam Bakery not only turns out "Mother's Bread," which is as
good as the best - good as "mother" ever made - but it also
manufactures a line of high-grade pies and cakes which the most
exacting find meet their needs for home use.
Mr. Kubala takes this
opportunity of thanking the public for the patronage given him in the
past and assures them it shall be his purpose at all times to give them
the best bread possible to produce, and full value for their money, and
he extends to "old settlers" and to all others an invitation to visit
his bakery and get acquainted.
