The Daily Favorite (Bonham, Fannin Co., Texas) August 28, 1909 pg.1 Miss Mollie Greer Injured Is Hurt in a Street Car Accident Yesterday Afternoon at Sherman Miss Mollie Greer, who left here yesterday to visit Mrs. O.B. Wolcott at Sherman, was hurt in a street car accident at that place yesterday afternoon. Miss Greer, in company with Miss Maude Newman, also of this city, and Mrs. O.B. Wolcott, was on the car bound uptown. When near the Katy crossing, the car was struck by a switch engine. In the panic that ensued Miss Greer was thrown to the ground and sustained injuries to her side, shoulders and hip. The hurts are very painful but not serious, according to a message received here this morning by J.F. Mayo. Miss Greer was treated by a physician and is resting easily. None of the other occupants of the car were injured. The Daily Favorite (Bonham, Fannin Co., Texas) August 30, 1909 pg.2rm MISS GREER'S CONDITION NOT SERIOUS Word from Sherman is to the effect that Miss Mollie Greer, who was hurt in the street car accident at that place Saturday is getting along well as could be expected. Miss Greer's injuries were worse than at first supposed. She was considerably bruised up. In fact, so much so that it is not thought advisable to move her for several days, but it is not thought that her hurts are of a serious nature. This is good news, indeed, to the lady's Bonham friends who wish for her a speedy recovery. Sherman History Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any links inoperable, please send me a message. |
