Sherman, Tex., Jan. 4 - The City Council in adjourned session tonight set salaries for officers, beginning in April, 1900, as follows, per month:
Alderman $1
city attorney $75
tax collector $100
assistant collector $50
secretary $40, with fees as clerk of City court
treasurer $25
police department : chief $75, patrolmen $60, stock officer $50, sanitary $25 and fees
fire department : chief $100, steamer engineer $65 and house rent, regular fireman $60, street inspectors $70, cemetery sexton $75
public works department : superintendent $85, engineers $60, firemen $45, electrician $60, inspectors $45
