ANNUAL REUNION
Of Old Settlers of Grayson County at Sherman

Sherman, Tex., Aug. 13 - The annual reunion of the old settlers of Grayson county passed away under the most auspicious circumstances.  The address this morning, delivered by Mayor Jake W. Levy, was one of his most pleasant.  He was followed by Capt.
J. D. Woods in behalf of the old settlers.
This afternoon Senator Potter of this district, himself an old settler and a thorough son of Texas, delivered a fine speech.  He went back with the old settlers to the days when what is now the most populous section of a magnificent state was a wilderness, and speaking by experience followed the changes of the intervening years until the present, when he bestowed a high tribute upon the pioneers for having hewn and blazed the way for such prosperity.
He was followed by an eloquent address from Congressman Bailey.
Several impromptu addresses were made by old settlers and others.

Davis Edmiston, a fireman on the St. Louis and Southwestern, while enroute to Tyler was asleep in a caboose which ran off the track and was badly wrecked near Gilmer.  Edmiston's injuries consist of three broken ribs and very painful injured to the shoulders and hips.
