Dallas Morning News Sherman Shavings March 31, 1887 Sherman, Jan. 14 - The case of the State vs. Charles Childs, charged with theft of cattle, a few days since, will be called up before Justice Hinkle tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock. The defendant disclaims any knowledge of how or when the stray cattle got into the herd he was driving. He is out on appearance bond of $400. The work of putting a floor in the engine room of the Diamond Elevator is being pushed ahead, and as soon as this is accomplished the dynamos will be set in position. In the meantime the work of planting the poles and preparing to stretch the wires goes on steadily, and will be completed in a few days. The lights will be in position next week. Several minor cases have been
tried in Grayson County at the several justice courts since the last sitting of
the grand jury, which returned the bills. A large number have been
tried in the courts of this city, but the State has failed to make proof in many
of them. Sherman Shavings Susan Hawkins © 2024 If you find any links inoperable, please send me a message. |
