The
Sherman Overall Manufacturing Company name was changed in 1925
to
Pool Manufacturing Company. A new facility was opened in 1928
on
S. Montgomery St. At that time the company employed 650 employees
and operated 525 sewing machines.
Products included work pants & shirts, overalls, dress & fancy shirts, unionalls, riding pants, sailor pants and men's work caps. "Swetpruf" was the brand name for their work clothes, and "Colortest" was the brand name used for the dress & fancy shirts. Each garment was made in a cycle, so that when it reached the last machine, it was completed. Source : Ashby, Linda. Sherman.
