February 15, 1886 Local News from Sherman MANUFACTURING NOTES The new rolling mill of Stennet & Rucker, on corner of Houston and East streets, is beginning to loom up in magnificent proportions. Several new improvements have recently been put in the works of the Sherman Chair Manufacturing Company, on Avenue K, near the Sherman Compress. It is rumored on the streets and THE NEWS reported also has it from a perfectly reliable source, that preparations are being made for the erection of a mammoth cotton gin in Sherman in the near future, with the Farmers' Alliance of this county among the most prominent shareholders.
